We’re excited to share some great news about YouTube with you today! YouTube extends Shorts to 3 minutes. According to their blog post, it is a “top requested feature by creators”. And there is even more beyond this update. YouTube will also add new templates, AI-generated backgrounds for videos, and more!

YouTube Shorts Length Extended 

Longer YouTube Shorts means more of your creativity. YouTube extends Shorts to 3 minutes, you will be able to post 180-second Shorts starting on October 15. Now, you can express your stories in detail! This update only affects videos with an aspect ratio of square or taller. Remember that this update has no bearing on any videos you shared before the 15th of October. 

New Magical YouTube Shorts Templates  

Did you like a Short and want to create one for your page? Now, you can create your YouTube Short with that template. As a YouTuber, you can remix popular YouTube Shorts by benefiting from this innovative template feature. By adopting the newest styles and synchronizing your videos to the trendiest music, you can effortlessly create your own magical content

To experiment with templates, you just need to tap “Remix” on a YouTube Short and click “Use this template”. That is all, now you can add your own unique touch. 

Remixing, Now Even Better  

YouTube wants users to use the platform’s full potential with the shorts. In the upcoming months, you can access the entire world of YouTube material directly from your Shorts camera. It will be simpler to remix your clips from various videos.

YouTube collaborated with Veo, the most powerful video-generating model developed by Google DeepMind, and will soon be available on YouTube Shorts. When you pick this option, YouTube will temporarily display fewer Shorts. You can pick this option by clicking the three-dot menu located in the upper right corner of every Shorts.
