Key Features of YouTube Jewels Tipping System

The new gift system of YouTube is only accessible to YouTube Partner Program users in the USA for now. And a user can make money from only live streams.

In the “Gifts, Powered by Jewels” system, there are two virtual currencies. There are Rubies for artists and Jewels for viewers.

Viewers may purchase bundles of Jewels to send animated gifts to their favorite content creators during vertical livestreaming.

This feature is akin to popular gift animations of TikTok, which appear during live videos.

Earnings on YouTube Jewels Tipping System

Content creators who go live will receive Rubies. One Ruby equals one cent in real life. Assume that you are a content creator and get 100 Rubies, which means that you’ll earn $1.

To encourage YouTubers, YouTube grants qualifying content creators a 50% boost in gift revenue. It is possible to earn up to $1,000 per month for the first 90 days.

YouTube tries to encourage content creators who currently prefer TikTok livestreams to earn money from the virtual gift systems.

In this new gift system, there is not a fixed revenue share, like in Channel Memberships and Super Chats. Their costs might change depending on promotional offers and bundle prices.

It is possible to get gifts from the Earn section in YouTube Studio.

How Can a User Benefit from the “Gifts, Powered by Jewels” System?

A content creator living in the United States can only utilize the gifting system right now since the platform is beta testing the feature. Plus, the user has to join the YouTube Partner Program to benefit from this feature.

The YouTuber has to go live in the vertical format to obtain jewels. Gifts can only be purchased and sent by users of mobile apps. However, artists can accept the jewels while live on YouTube or via third-party applications.

Say Goodbye to YouTube Super Stickers

With the new gift system, YouTube is considering removing Super Stickers from vertical live streams. Unfortunately, users cannot utilize Super Stickers during vertical live streams after YouTube has made the gift system accessible to all countries.

Although TikTok is the leader in virtual gifts, YouTube may be a formidable rival due to its enormous user base and infrastructure for monetization.

Updates on Text Formatting System in Studio Descriptions

YouTube has some updates on YouTube Studio’s text formatting system. It is possible to access bold, italic, and strike-through text. Plus, now there is a description editing field in the studio.

It has been launched to all creators on mobile and rolled out on desktops.

The New Feature: Hype

Here is a new YouTube feature: Hype. It is a way for viewers to come together that helps creators get discovered. Viewers hype your videos to show their excitement about your content as well as help your channel get discovered by new audiences.

Top hyped videos are located on the leaderboard; so, the users can see who is hyped and worth watching. Viewers can pay to Hype your video in addition to Hype free three times a week. Viewers who use this option can give even more points to a single video. With this new feature, newbies have a better chance to make it to the leaderboard and get noticed on the platform.

This feature is in the testing phase with a small number of creators in Brazil.
